Top Critic Reviews

Rotten: Budgetary limitations, a plodding script, ropey visual effects and an excruciating score undercut a heartfelt cautionary tale about a confused teenager wrestling with his religious faith and the dogmatism of his overzealous elders.

What the fuck did I just watch? The only scary thing about this film is that there are really religious freaks out there, who are willing to send their kids to camps like this. The producers of this movie must have known how awful it was, because they put a big picture of "The Social Network Guy," Jesse Eisenberg on the cover, and list him as the star, when he's in the movie for all of 2 minutes. The star is Will Denton, who you may remember from the short lived TV series, Kidnapped. He was pretty good, so was Gossip Girls, Connor Paolo. It's too bad they didn't have an actual script to work with. It really just blows my mind that things like this get made. No one in their right mind would consider this movie worth their time.

Can somebody please explain to me how this was a horror flick?! There was absolutely nothing scary about it.It's just a movie about parents sending their kids off to a Religious Summer Camp & It wasn't until the last 5 minutes that it turned into a horror movie. The main reason I rented Camp Hell was because Jesse Eisenberg was on the cover & I thought it be interesting to see him in a horror flick. He was only in the movie for like a minute or 2.SAVE YOUR $$$ & TIME!

I wanted to see this movie since there was a big picture of Jesse Eisenberg on the cover. So I got it and he was only in there for a couple of minutes at the most so I was pretty disapointed. The movie I guess was not all that bad, but it could have been a lotter better and I would not call this a horror movie at all even though I times I thougt it was going to go that way.
