Silly but mildly entertaining farce.

what parents need to know

Parents need to know that this movie has some strong language and a lot of action-style violence (no one hurt) and peril. There is some sexual humor, some crude jokes, and a joke about drinking. A strength of the movie is its portrayal of strong, loyal, and capable diverse characters, including minorities, women, and a gay character.

what families can talk about

  • Families can talk about whether "people care about people who care about themselves." Why was Sam so angry? What was the most important thing that Sam and Gracie learned?

movie reviews from Rotten Tomatoes®

Top Critic Reviews

Rotten: Like its predecessor, Miss Congeniality 2 is by turns a predictable and outlandishly contrived take on the Pygmalion myth.

- Ann Hornaday, Washington Post, Friday, March 25, 2005

Fresh: Deliriously funny if instantly forgettable.

- Carrie Rickey, Philadelphia Inquirer, Thursday, March 24, 2005

Rotten: Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous is enjoyable in patches, but only because of the goodwill that most of us still have toward Sandra Bullock.

I like Sandra Bullock but she does herself no favours by starring in this. What's worse is that she produced it! Not great.

The story is not quite as good as the first but it was funnier than I was expecting. Quite similar to the first, more of the same really.
