Don't you hate it when you can't find anything to watch on TV and you decide upon something simply because it's NOT the worst thing on? The only thing worse is discovering that you were wrong and there probably WAS something worse on. Here we have a little film by the makers of "Maniac Cop" called "Uncle Sam". In it, a Gulf War vet who was killed in action comes back to life to kill un-patriotic people in his neighborhood. We learn, later, that the definition of "un-patriotic" includes people who try to stop you from killing other un-patriotic people. For star power, Isaac Hayes pops up as a one-legged war veteran and I couldn't help but expect him to call "Uncle Sam" a cracker, or preach to him about making sweet love. Instead, we get to see him turn in a week performance and shoot a replica cannon with cannonballs that cause explosions akin to that of a Stinger missile. The only saving grace of this dreck was seeing PJ Soles, she of the red baseball cap and blonde hair from movies like "Halloween" and "Rock and Roll High School", and even that is stretching it since she's not as cute as she used to be. Bottom line? "Uncle Sam" sucks.

We rented this soley based on the title. How horrible could you imagine a film being entitled "Uncle Sam" be? Well, times that by a million and thats how bad it is.
